Building: 740 Park Avenue in Lenox Hill
One of Manhattan’s most prestigious prewar buildings on Park Avenue in the East Seventies. Built by Rosario Candela in 1929, this architectural masterpiece was ultimately converted to a cooperative by John D. Rockefeller Jr. who resided in the building for many years. Most of the residences in this historic building are duplexes, though some, such as the one built for Rockafeller, were triplexes. The 36-unit building also has an entrance on the sidestreet at 71 East 71st Street.
