Our mission at IS 143 is to prepare all students for the world of work in the twenty-first century and to become responsible citizens of their community, their nation and the world. The methodologies employed at IS 143M recognize the unique needs of developing adolescents as we encourage them to become critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and to be aware and accepting of the differences in others. We continue to meet the needs of all of our students while we give special attention to our at-risk students. We incorporate the practices that research indicates successful middle schools utilize including: The success of our mission requires the collaboration of our entire school community; students, families, teachers and all members of the school faculty.
