PS/IS 111 is an intimate community school. Three important groups comprise the soul of PS/IS 111. They are: an extremely diverse student body, a highly skilled and committed teaching staff, and caring parents. Each group works cooperatively to create a learning environment for all. The administration adds support and guidance to the overall operations by providing long-term vision, by creating an opportunity for staff development, and by coordinating the efforts of teachers, parents and students. PS/IS 111 has high academic expectations for all students. Our community works diligently to teach the whole child so that he/she develops a strong sense of self, an ability to work within any community, and the critical thinking skills that are required to make good choices in the academic and non-academic world.
