This has to be a joke.
This might be worth it at *19th* and Third.
In East Harlem? Those prices are an insult.
$1850 for a studio in East Harlem????
what are they smoking? they are at least 50 - 80% overpriced!!
most people wouldnt live there if you paid them to ..
Dear Friend of a Friend of 119th & Third,
I hope a Friend of the Hunter College School of Social Work can buy your building for pennies on the dollar when you go bankrupt next year. Nice dorms.
Love,
Friend of alanhart
oh my goodness, they want HOW MUCH for 119th St.???? They should be thrown into prison for stupidity.
I just heard the following on my police scanner:
Attention all officers: we have an APB on a group of 7 mental patients who just escaped from Bellevue. They have forcefully taken over the building at 119th & Third and have just sent out an e-mail containing apartment prices, with 2 bedrooms listed for $3,750 a month. Use extreme caution, as the suspects are stupid and crazy.
"One bedrooms with a 430 square foot private terrace start at $2600"
I'm there, baby!!
eric cartman: I respect your authority
Yeah, I just posted in their own thread, but compared to what other brand new doorman buidlings rent for in Harlem - brand new doorman buildings - its 50% more per SF. And I have seen all of them below 125th, so i know.
You don't seem to realize HOW IT WORKS!
Those are the prices that the NEED in order to be able to pay off their loans.
They NEED that much, which is why they CHARGE that much, and why you have to PAY so much. Because you NEED to HELP them OUT!
What is so hard to understand about this, people?
When these marketing servants put their tiny heads on their tiny pillows do you think there is room in their tiny skulls to dream?
Dream large tiny fishes...dream large...
"Because you NEED to HELP them OUT!"
Steve, you're right. We should be more charitable.
I understand: they need to make these #s in order to cover their mtg, expenses, whatevah, but, just ain't gonna happen.
Thank you, dwell.
It's the same argument I heard from others (who no longer post) 6 months ago before the hit fit the shan about asking prices that weren't coming down: that's what they NEED to make.
To which I say, I have a 1972 Buick LeSabre with a cracked engine block that I need to sell for $75,000 so I can buy a Mercedes. Can you buy it please?
Dude! I'm actually looking for a 1973 Buick LeSabre for restoration!
Stevie,
There's some really dark days ahead, esply when mtgs resets & job losses.
Did you read about the NYTs reporter? The banks are so backlogged dealing w/ bad loans, they don't have time to foreclose & repossess, so people are living for free in the interim.
Hope you come on 5-21.
Matt, you missed it by a year!
Won't be there on 5-21, sorry. vverain threatened to kill me.
For your sake I do hope spunky shows up. I'm starting to believe he an alter-ego of LICComment, since one appeared at about the time the other disappeared.
And yes - real estate has fallen 30%, has another 30% to go. I'm still not buying any, but that's my prediction and always has been. (For the mathematically challenged that's about a 50% decline - 49% to be exact, not 60%.)
Yikes! Totally out in lala land.
Stevie,
won't even ask who vverain is, some shmoe, no doubt.
can't you just wear a wig + beard? Groucho nose w/ glasses? Bring some mace? Oh, poo!
OTNYC, who/what is totally out in lala land?
vverain (aka verain) is an old stalker.
I think I'd have to bring a militia if you read some of the reaction I got in January 2008 when I started to post - that there would be a crash in Manhattan.
Which is why malraux owes me a co-op, and Juicy owes me a) a retraction; and b) an admission that everything I said was right.
