Discussion about
what does it mean when the board asks for a "meet and greet" as opposed to a formal interview? My broker seems a little confused about this
I dunno, you get to drink?
perhaps they're trying to be pleasant. why not go forward and meet with them?
greet assumes you are a neighbor they wish to welcome. unless you really go to screw it up, I would assume that they like your application as well as the price you are paying for the apartment and therefore the board has nothing to base a rejection on. Good luck, smile and nod your head in approval to each stupid comment by a board members..Good luck.
More than one poster on SE has reported that their board interview was not a grilling but rather more a "welcome to the building". Sounds like 'Congratulations'.
In my building, that would imply that you were accepted. Meaning, we've already seen your financials and approved them... you would have to be a complete nutcase to get rejected after a meet 'n greet. (I'm on the board in my building.)
thank you for your help! and I'll try and avoid appearing like a nutcase
There seem to be some very firm guidelines about how to dress & act for these things even if it appears that you're a shoo-in. Dress in jacket & tie, as if for a job interview; not too much cologne & jewelry, etc. Be pleasant & know your financials in & out & don't offer any info not requested. Answer in as few words as possible. Relax & good luck!
