Oh man, I had such a good one way back when; it's now off the market, but the layout remains (although appears a bit chopped up on my browser):

I believe this beauty is the winner of the "choppers" thread. Down 60% from original (insanely aspirational) asking price to latest ask. Is now in contract, but has been for 5+ months, so who knows.

Looks like a 20 min commute from the front door to the living room

Can anyone explain to me where exactly the door to the bedroom is supposed to be? Otherwise ordinary.

if you click through to the halstead listing, you can see the doors...odd that SE left them out.

Funny, I wonder if the first floorplan had an error and they simply forgot to correct it with SE? Layout is otherwise okay; nothing spectacular, but also not spectacularly weird.

This may be the worst floorplan for a townhouse ever:

http://img.streeteasy.com/nyc/image/86/9167886.gif

And they have the worst pictures ever to go with it.

http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/477165-townhouse-45-west-12th-street-greenwich-village-new-york

Also price chopped $900k after 10 days on the market.

That's an interesting relic of old pre-grid lot lines. If you look at the aerial map, you can see the diagonal in buildings on the other side of the block. There're some other ones like that further uptown.

When you see the pictures, it IS a pretty apartment.

But God help you if you're just coming home and REALLY have to go to the bathroom ... you have to run through FIVE rooms before you hit the john!

That top one at the Curbed link, #4A, is one of the two the Belafontes bought. The other is to the right of that first long stretch of hall. Big void to the left is the arched ceiling of the banking hall. (Next door are Suri Kasirer, the lobbyist, and Bruce Teitelbaum, former Guiliani aide.)

That L-shaped void in #5D is a set of firestairs snaking its way down from the core of the building to the Amsterdam Ave. edge.

For $15 million they could have used more than a blue pen and graph paper to make a floorplan.
