Discussion about
In a new construction condo, how many days (when) before closing should you do the walkthough? Is there a comprehensive list of items to look out for? What are the problems for those that did a punchlist saw?

New construction is never perfect and as a result the developers give each buyer prior to closing the opportunity to walk/thru and create a 'punchlist' of imperfections to be worked on, usually after the closing. Your offering plan will tell you what the obligations of the sponsor/developer are with regard to the 'timeliness' of the punchlist items completion. Some plans call for the developer to finish all work prior to closing, two/three weeks after closing and some are open ended where the sponsor/developer doesn't have ANY time to complete work.
I would cosult my Offering Plan prior to arranging your walk/thru so you have your guideline and your course of action ready should you find a few imperfections in construction, finishes, etc.
