Discussion about 535 West End Avenue in Upper West Side
535 West End Avenue has a just recently launched site that is taking names and emails so they can contact you once they have floor plans, pricing etc. The word in the street is that it is going to be VERY high end, with single floor apartments marketed to it's religious neighborhood. It has been said that it will be a 'kosher' building with kitchens that have 2 dishwashers, sets of cabinets etc.
Call me crazy...but that's what I have been told.
Thanks for the info broadbent. Kosher angle notwithstanding, I have a hunch this building will sell very well. The boards talk about it being 21st Century Pre-War which seems to me they are going to forego the glass of something like Ariel and go more for a 15 Central Park West look.
I am sure it will be out of my price range -- probably $1,500 + psf but would be a welcome addition to the neighborhood if they design it to fit in the pre war aesthetic of the hood.
Check out the website of the architect who's designing the building, Lucien Lagrange (from Chicago), that will give you an idea of the the kind of work they have done. I was fairly impressed.
