Discussion about
I'm looking to buy a property in Manhattan, and would appreciate some advice. A broker showed me a house that looked interesting, and told me that it was 6000 sq ft. When I checked with sites like Streeteasy and Property Shark, it showed around 5000 sq ft. When asked to confirm, he claimed that in NY brokers are not allowed to confirm sq footage. Can this be correct?

Good thing you checked! Brokers always seem to exaggerate which means you are paying more per square foot than they are telling you.

notgullible...if you are really interested than go measure it yourself. But if it fits your lifestyle and price range than does it really matter?
