Does anyone live or own a place in this building? If so, do you have problems? We do and would like to talk in confidence about ideas on how to address them with management. Please respond if you've had problems with floors, windows, patio doors, hvac, etc.

i have a friend who lives there. it's a decent building, but the location is terrible. it's right next to a massive housing project, and there's really nothing in that immediate vicinity. i definitely do not recommend anyone to live there.

The Wired New York Forum has a thread on 10 WEA that hasn't been updated in a while, but might be worth checking out.

I am a current resident and have had some serious issues. Both the owner and manangement company seem indifferent to many of my problems. I believe that they are purposely avoiding disclosing known problems that exist within the building.

Hi Irish, I have a unit there. I have issues with the flooring and the balcony but these are issues that can be found in any other development.

I'm curious - if you really do live there, why are you using Streeteasy to organize? Why not... knock on your neighbor's door, introduce yourself, and ask?

I've done that with my immediate neighbor after seeing them in the hallway one night for three hours after their front door lock malfunctioned on them. We invited them into our place which is when we heard an earful. Their patio door opens routinely due to the wind. They have cats which freaks them out. Going door to door seems weird and random which is why I am on this site. I want the owner to pay the price for selling apartments that have faulty HVAC systems, faulty front door locks and windows that either whistle or open when it's very windy outside.

irish... the internet is a database. your comments will be here forever. Rufus' unsurprisingly negative comments will be here forever.. if you are not a renter and an owner of the apt, i dont know why you wld publically offer potential property price lowering comments in a public forum.. makes no sense. little bit of cutting off nose to spite your face..

Jenny,

I'm quite aware of how the web works. The money is less relevant to me than the principal of the matter. I am doing what I hoped someone had done for me: tell the truth. If it effects my resale value then that's life. I didn't cause the problem, nor did I deceive anyone. I hate to see that people literally want me to deceive others for the sake of a buck. It's not my style --- sorry.

As a fellow 10WEA owner, I could not have had a more different experience than Irish and love the building and living there with my family.

Irish, by the way, as you seem to be a real estate novice, what you dont get is the sponsor already sold most of the units and made his money. He isnt reading this blog. Only other buyers are. You are now losing your own money and the rest of ours for no good reason.

irish, telling the truth doesn't necessarily mean burning your own money. Truthfully, every building has its problems, new and old, rent or own. It's just not good business to go broadcasting your dirty laundry.

I just visited the place last December. It looked okay to me. I have not received any complain from tenant who has been there for 4 months now. I heard the noise from one of the windows, it stopped as soon as I closed it properly. We got a one year advance rental at a good rate. They just had the condo owners last night there were a few complains i'e. AC malfunctioning but most of those who complained did not get anybody to maintain their units. Mine malfunctioned when I had the unit renovated. The dust clogged the unit up but this was solved after we had the unit cleaned.

Going door to door "seems weird & random"? You WERE just going door to door within 10 WEA, no?

Anybody there interested in airing your grievances in the paper? I'm a journalist currently working on a story about buyers in new construction, and am looking for interesting stories. You can email me at maxgrosstheauthor@gmail.com
