(Discussing Sale at 25 Murray Street) Anybody has a clue why there are no workers at the building even though it is still unfinished on the upper floors?
I live across the street and have been in to see a few units. After looking at the units and the quality (bad) of the buildouts there is definitely something not right. There are never workers there -- even during the week.
The building has been in development forever (at least 2 years) and the lack of progress plus cheap interior= a shady or cheap developer. There aren't even washers and dryers in the units!
Supposedly the developer is not from NYC (hence the washer/dryer issue -- who is going to pay $2M for an apartment and have to do laundry in a laudramat?) and is also converting a small sliver of the conjoined buildings for rentals as well.
All in all a weird set up, that made us uneasy about buying there.
very helpful intel! please drop a line here, Markznyc, when you see some signs of construction activity. The building apparently has only 44 out of 75 units in contract and that's since last summer.
