Discussion about
Now I remember you. You were banned off several other New York forums for your alternate screen names and massive trolling. Rufus also posts as "Quantumn" on this board. Rufus, on another New York forum, you said you lived in Chicago and you trolled around trying to convince us that New York was overrated and that Chicago was superior and you made other alternate screen names to spew the identical rubbish. It was always the same thing, Chicago has more high-rise condos, Chicago is cleaner, Chicago has less projects, Chicago is more "upscale" etc. And Rufus IP address was run on another NY forum and he does NOT live in New York, so please, let's get this straight. He is a psycho troll who needs to seek help.

nyny1 what does it mean that rufus' IP address was "run on another NY forum"?

I don't like rufus more than the next guy (I'm not new to SE, like Clinton suggested) but what kind of bullcrap are you spouting?

It means someone looked up the IP address his posts were made from, to determine his actual location... basically they figured out the source of the posts was a computer not in NYC.

someone being who? a site administrator?
but interesting nontheless. I just did a geolocate on my IP address, and despite sitting square in Manhattan, the IP lookup put me in 5 locations: Herndon, VA, Herndon, KY, Washingtonville, NY, New York, NY and Brooklyn, NY. All I did was google IP geolocator and checked the top 5 links.

Idiot, why the hell does he need to make 10 different screen names to vent? He can vent until he drops dead, but it's annoying having to continually put him on "ignore" since he posts as 10 different people. I honestly don't mind the fact that he is dead seat on pretending he lives in NYC, and rehashing everything he's heard on Curbed at the end of the week, but do it on one freaking screen name so I don't have to read drivel!

And yes his IP address was traced by an admin on skyscrapercity.com and he doesn't live in NYC.

He posts under so many different names so it's hard to find, but I'm trying to find a few of his posts on other NY boards.

Here are a few, for starters...

http://www.city-data.com/forum/new-york-city/399780-nyc-so-dirty-overrated.html
http://www.city-data.com/forum/new-york-city/406489-i-wish-nyc-had-more-supertall.html

(notice they were both banned, including others which I don't remember, because they were both Rufus sycophantically posting under different names)

So Rugus, first you live in Chicago and then you lived in NY under the "torque" name. Which is it?

Wow, the guy isn't even here! But we knew that...

Oh my god, I thought rufus was pathetic, but this is ridiculous.

rufus must have gotten a job as a real estate broker in Chicago after failing miserably in NYC. This if the worst, lowest kind of broker I've seen. Trying to market the whole city in another city's forums. And he picked NYC which is far, far, SUPERIOR than Chicago. rufus should start with a city like Topeka, Kansas or something and he may have a chance, and may have an argument. LOL!

Chicago has built more highrise condos in the last few years than NYC has. Just compare the new developments between the two cities. Of course, much of that has to do with the lack of space in NYC, along with various regulations.

NYC added 30k new apartments in 2008...

And more people are moving out of Chicago than in...

Oh JohnAnthony/Rufus, New York City has built far more high rise condos and skyscrapers than Chicago has in the last few years.

According to Skyscraper Page:

Current amount of high rise skyscrapers under construction.

New York City: 154
Chicago: 62

As a matter of fact, we currently have 6,054 skyscrapers in New York and Chicago only has 1,075. So we have nearly 6 times more skyscrapers than Chicago, yet you insist that Chicago has more high rises. What planet are you living on?

Rufus, why is it that you don't like facts? You're always fighting facts dude.

Yeah, that number includes office buildings and hotels.

There is no doubt that Chicago has put up more highrise residential buildings in the last 5 years than NYC.

"There is no doubt that Chicago has put up more highrise residential buildings in the last 5 years than NYC. "

If rufus says it, its 100% doubtful.

Not sure if he's that stupid or just lying, but he's pretty consistenly wrong.

I vote with stupid.

^ Check the Chelsea thread. He screamed that Chicago was the cleanest place on earth and in one minute I found multiple articles on how Chicago's garbage men wind up spending half they day drinking and pissing in the street. But maybe to Rufus that means cleanliness?
