Discussion about
The listing info under 123 Baxter is wrong. The units listed as sold are really unsold. There is only one unit in contract. Contact Elliman or J.C DeNiro (current sales rep) to verify.
1 Unit in contract???? wow.. anyone who is interested shld wait as this will be a rock bottom price..
I don't think they are listed as sold, just "no longer available." I can't find them on the Elliman site either.
Far from being in SoHo.. it's very much Chinatown, surrounded by tenement buildings. Chinatown still has gangs running the show. Why pay such high prices when you can get the same in a better neighborhood. I would avoid this overpriced developement, as clearly people have done.

Just curious.....I wonder why the new condo Hester Gardens!? (2 blocks away from 123 Baxter and in the middle of China Town) is selling so well. I think they're almost sold out. Yes, it is alot cheaper, but the gang situation remains the same.
#4.. you are so stupid it makes me sick. im sure there is an underground crime element in chinatown.. but for you to use "blender" as evidence to prove your point is soooo dumb. that is a soft-porn maxim type magazine read by male teenagers going through puberty...
#6 maybe #4 is dumb, but I wouldn't be so dumb as to buy in 123 baxter either. Obviously everyone else feels the same considering they've had no buyers. I read the blender article and it seems pretty legit to me. New York Magazine just had a spread about Chinatown and the author clearly states that elements of gangs remain in charge, which is why you won't see homeless people on the streets. The gangs won't tolerate it. Prostitution, though, is another story..
love prostitution...
Chinatown is a great place to live
I love Chinese food and culture, but to live, I don't think so. Chinatown is very dirty, smelly, loud and crowded. I would prefer Tribeca, SoHo, Nolita....a place close to Chinatown but with a much nicer living environment. Anyone who can afford 123 Baxter can afford something in those places.
I agree.
